May 2009: The Month In Review

This was an interesting month which started with the announced pending retirement of a Supreme Court Justice, the nomination of the first Hispanic woman to the U.S. Supreme Court by Barack Obama, a blockbuster film that may have invigorated an iconic and foundering entertainment franchise and a historic space mission! I hope you remember these historic events and others mentioned in the 5th installment of my month-by-month quizzes in 2009. Enjoy May 2009!

Without further ado, quiz on!

The Tumultuous Thirties

When I say the 1930s, what comes to mind? I would be willing to bet that The Great Depression, WWII, and The Dust Bowl top the list. This was a decade characterized by poverty, economic instability, war, and a general uncertainty about the promise of tomorrow. They say that history has a tendency to repeat itself and, based upon my own personal experiences, I would say they are right! Let's take a little trip down memory lane to help remember a time that none of us would ever want to have to endure.
