"False Friends" In German

A 'false friend' or false cognate is a word in one language which looks like a word in another language, but turns out to have a different meaning. For example, if an impatient German diner in an English restaurant complains to his passing waiter "When will I become my chicken" he has fallen victim to the English false friend "become" by assuming it means the same as the German "bekommen", meaning "to receive". This quiz looks at false friends for the English speaker in the German language.
