Band Name Origins

How did Def Leppard come up with their name? Shouldn't it be spelled "Deaf Leopard"? Well, the band's lead singer came up with "Deaf Leopard" as a youngster, and modified it to look more like the name "Led Zeppelin". You get the picture? In this quiz we'll look at the origin of some other band names- from the 1960's and 70's. I'll give you certain clues, maybe an audio clip, and you're on your way! Give it a try.

How many questions can you answer putting together facts from these lyrics and quotes from, and about, band members? The traveling, lonely nights and being away from one's friends and love ones can be hard on people who just want to 'make music'. And sometimes, just sometimes, it IS about the 'sex, drugs and rock n' roll'.
