Very Happy

DUST IN THE WIND, BABA O' REILLY, SATISFACTION. There is really no reason to hear these songs as much as I do. already . Christ almighty.

That is precisely why classic rock stations suck. A top 40 station may have played "My Humps" a billion times in a month, but at least their list changes over time. Classic rock stations have the same list year after year. They've been playing "Dust in the Wind" continually since the 80s - no wonder we're sick of these songs!

Well, it is a ' classic ' rock station so I guess they have to play ' classics '. I would think a golden oldies station might have a larger playlist. Besides, I like Hotel California! Classic rock purgatory for me would be Whipping Post followed by Free Bird. Wait,.... this isn't purgatory-it's hell! Yipes.

You mean other than Bill Shatner's "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" cover or Leonard Nimoy's "Ballad of Bilbo Baggins"? I am going with "Kokomo" by The Beach Boys or Lionel Ritchie's "Dancing on the Ceiling". I mean, come on... I'll take Shalamar's dancing in the sheets, but dancing on the ceiling?

Side note: Worst video of all time: Styx's "Mr. Roboto". As Mr. Hand would say, "What - are you people on dope!"

Peace out

We all liked Hotel California the first 9,000 or so times we heard it. I think it was around 1993 when I heard it for the 23,000th time that it started to get a bit stale.

Also, yes I understand that they are classic rock stations, so they must play classic rock songs. No argument there. The point I have been attempting to make (evidently poorly) is that there's lots of great classic rock songs to choose from beyond these same tired old ones they play over and over and over and over and over.....

That said, you still gotta love Free Bird.

The 2 songs that come to mind for me are...."Oh Sherry" by Steve Perry and "Mickey" by Toni Basil. I literally cringed when those songs would come on the radio. "Who Let the Dogs Out" by the Baha Men ruined top 40 radio for me when my son was growing up. He made me blast that song every time it played. XM the Squizz for me now, lol.
