That is a toughie! Although I LOVE Shawshank and it is in the top of my favorites I am a MAJOR Star Wars fan and the original holds a VERY special place in my heart! I have seen it more than any other film ever! Braveheart is also a close second!

Call me old fashioned, but to me it doesn't get any better than The Sound of Music. It has it all; love of family, love of country and of course, Julie Andrews. A close second would be It's a Wonderful Life starring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed. The tears start flowing every time I see Clarence get his wings.
Does anyone remember the alternate ending of It's a Wonderful Life as seen on "Saturday Night Live" years back when George (played by Dana Carvey) finds Mr. Potter and kicks his butt for stealing Uncle Billy's money?
