Smile My favorite song is my Wedding Song.
My husband Doug picked out called:
" Til the Twelfth of Never " by John Mathis.
These are the lyrics:

YOU ASKED HOW MUCH I NEED YOU, MUST I EXPLAIN ?
I NEED YOU, O MY DARLING, LIKE ROSES NEED RAIN.

YOU ASKED HOW LONG I LOVE YOU ?

I'LL TELL YOU TRUE, UNTIL THE TWELFTH OF NEVER,
I'LL STILL BE LOVING YOU.

HOLD ME CLOSE, NEVER LET ME GO,
HOLD ME CLOSE, MELT MY HEART LIKE APRIL SNOW.

I'LL LOVE YOU, " TIL THE BLUE BELLS FORGET TO BLOOM ".
I'LL LOVE YOU, " TIL THE POETS RUN OUT OF RYHMES ".

UNTIL THE TWELFTH OF NEVER, AND THAT'S A LONG, LONG TIME.
UNTIL THE TWELFTH OF NEVER, AND THAT'S A LONG, LONG TIME.

(Man, that last post was a thread killer)

My favorite songs of the 70's are probably:

1) "Do You Feel Like We Do?" by Peter Frampton
Sure, I was about 7 when this came out, but "Frampton Comes Alive" put me at his concert, and it felt good.

2) "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes
Heavy duty party music from yesteryear.

3) "Wichita Lineman" by Glenn Campbell
Melancholy 70's at its best.

and

4) "Chevy Van" by Sammy Johns
To me, no song sums up the 70's spirit like this one. An easy-going free-love road song - how can you go wrong?

When I was 4, it was "Playground In My Mind" by Clint Holmes.......................................................

but I remember the Summer of 74' perfect. I would sit by a white radio that would sit on the kitchen counter, this was at my aunt's summer house in New Jersey. Both of my grandparents died that summer, so my brother, sister and myself spent lots of time there, while my mom and dad traveled back to NYC. I would wait all day for Paper Lace's "The Night Chicago Died", Bo Donaldson & The Heywoods' "Billy, Don't Be A Hero", Gordon Lightfoot's "Sundown" and Paul Anka & Odia Coates "You're Having My Baby". These songs stick out in my mind from the Summer of 74'. I am sure that there were other songs but nothing compares to these four songs. Man, that was a long time ago. Rolling Eyes
