What a way to go

Just saw old movie (1964) WHAT A WAY TO GO. Starred Shirley MacLaine, Dean Martin, Paul Newman, Bob Mitchum, Gene Kelly...etc. Would like to know if anyone has seen movie, and if any one has noticed in the scene where "Pinky" (Gene Kelly) begins his career as a singer/ actor w/o makeup and gags there is a couple who walks behind him as he is performing. Is the man a younger Mike Wallace, the news man? Question
