Well,
This morning I logged in and everything seemed fine. I started writing an email, and when I tried to send it, I got the error message after waiting quite a while for it to try sending. It seemed to be fine as long as I stayed on the hourly quiz page because that automatically refreshes every minute. I know if it takes a while to write an email, it will kick you back to the bottom of the list of who's online, so I assume my log on expired while I was writing. Then I couldn't get back on until 7:00 again.

Still the same this morning esprit.
6:23 - 7:07 AM today, and the number of people online went from 11 to 40 in the first minute the site was back on.

Same problem this morning January 10th. I couldn't get on for about 45 minutes and I finally got on when JSG got on the other day, around 7:07 AM. Anthony

Fixed
OK I believe the problem is now solved. The issue was caused by the calculations associated with determining who qualifies for the "Veteran" bonus. The routines have been optimized so the issue should now be resolved. Thanks to all who helped out!

Even at 6 AM Eastern time there's usually around 50-100 playing online, and anywhere from 2-6 members. Some days there weren't even 6 total when I got on, so apparently nobody could get on. The few that were online when I signed in beat me by seconds, so they must have been trying repeatedly too.
I don't know if what I gave you helped or not. If this happens again, I will write down what it says word for word and get it to you.

My computer does that in the middle of the afternoon at about 5:00.
