In North America there is also a Rome in New York, Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, Mississippi, Indiana and I'm sure I missed some. While there are a numbers of research facilities in Antarctica, there's no permanent population, so I'm not sure if many named territories even exist there, so if there is an exception to the "all 7 continents idea", I would say it was Antarctica.
Honestly, this rumor/urban legend, whatever you want to call it has been around for a long time, and still you can't find a list of these cities on the internet. What does that tell ya ?
