John Lennon- Oct 9th 1940 - Dec 8th 1940. 27th Anniversary of his Death.

Where were you when you heard about the passing of John Lennon? I was in 6th grade ( in school at the time) playing soccer in the school yard and my friend came running in with the news.

I came out of the Gibert Jeune store.

I came out of the Gibert Jeune book store in Paris late in the afternoon when I read the headlines of a Dutch newspaper at a newsstand. I was in French boarding school at the time. The paper s headline read: The assassination of John Lennon shocks the world. Later the cover story of Time magazine was entitled When the Music Dies. This tragic event had as much impact on young people s state of mind and memory as the Kennedy assassination. John Lennon in memoriam. Smile
Met vriendelyke groet( Kind regards) your ailurophiliac Dutch friend Remco (Catman) van Prooijen, Cat Lovers team (appointed team leader) and my stubborn black cat Cindy.

Damn, somebody has to remember where they were when he died. That goes with the Elvis thing in 77' and the Thurman thing in 79'. No takers at all ? Nothing ?
