Beach Boys Shut Down

I am so confused! Help. For a quiz I am writing, I needed the lyrics for the Beach Boys song Shut Down. It starts " It happened on the strip where the road is wide. Two cool ? standing side by side." I have alway sung' two cool sharks sitting side by side'. I was wrong. The lyric everyone agrees on is two cool ? standing side by side. Most of the lyrics I pulled up uses the word shorts ' which doesn't make any sense to me. One lyric used the word 'sharps ' which makes a little more sense to me. Since the song is about a Stingray Corvette, I thought they were referring to a Corvette that was known as a Shark. Does anyone have a copy of the lyric from an (ahem) album? Or know why two sharps are standing side by side?
Thanks
Millie
