Have you ever thought about the origin and history of this modern day convenience we don't even think about? Toilet paper was first produced in 14th century China for the needs of the Emperor family. Later, it was made in the form of sheets measuring two feet by three feet. The first factory-made toilet paper was sold in 1857 by Joseph Gayetty and the first toilet paper on a roll was marketed by the Scott Paper Company in 1897, in Philadelphia.
