When I say the 1930s, what comes to mind? I would be willing to bet that The Great Depression, WWII, and The Dust Bowl top the list. This was a decade characterized by poverty, economic instability, war, and a general uncertainty about the promise of tomorrow. They say that history has a tendency to repeat itself and, based upon my own personal experiences, I would say they are right!
